This is Kavya & Bharath, the couple behind Smoothery.

The fundamental idea of Smoothery was born out of the necessity to make our lives a little bit simpler in the mornings before heading to work.

We are big believers in starting the day right which means not settling for piece of toast (although we will never say no to a sourdough and avo toast any day). So we started making smoothies to create a healthy nourishing routine for ourselves.

Let’s just say, if it was just that simple there wouldn’t be Smoothery!

We had no clue about portion sizes so there was no consistency and every day the results were different!

Also shopping for ingredients was not just time consuming and expensive but it was super messy to measure and scoop ten different ingredients to make a smoothie.

So we researched all about how to pack my smoothies with protein, vitamins, minerals, fat without overloading on calories and fruit sugars.

Very soon we realised it’s not an easy thing to achieve with pantry staples. We needed something more, something special that will punch above its weight in smaller quantities. After months of research, we picked a handful of South American Superfoods to add to our smoothie formulas in addition to pantry staples. We tweaked the proportions of these superfoods over and over again to achieve consistent results and optimise the nutritional value.

During this process, we noticed that many of us take nutrition for granted - it’s very much the foundation of our lives and yet it’s not given nearly enough importance as other things in life.

So we thought why not take this necessity of ours and make it into something more - create honest products with pure and powerful ingredients that will create easy routines for people and promote a colourful, vibrant & energetic lifestyle.

  • We do everything on our own here - from new product development to ingredient research, production of our blends at a certified manufacturing facility to marketing, website, social media, connecting with customers, sales and post sales service - everything is us two. It’s a lot of hats piled on top of each other and we absolutely love every bit of it.

  • We love the convenience of adding multiple superfoods and whole foods straight out of one bag and pack our smoothies with good amount of protein, fats, fibre and vital nutrients. We reject products that are filled with sweeteners and flavours - because to us flavours and tastes should always be experienced through real, raw, wholesome foods; not from added sweeteners and flavours.

  • We are passionate about reducing waste and choosing eco-friendly packaging over flashy designs. Our product packaging is 100% biodegradable made out of Polylactic acid or polylactide (PLA) - a polyester made from renewable biomass, typically from fermented plant starch like corn, cassava, sugarcane or sugar beet pulp.

    Our courier packaging is minimal brown cardboard boxes with Soy-based ink stamps. At every step, we give our best to minimise our footprint and be gentle about conducting business.

  • Our customers are the biggest motivation behind the brand. Every order pushes us to do more and be innovative. Every review we collect is like a gold medal. Every share on Instagram recharges us.
